KHQ News station tour and lunch
If you’ve ever wondered how television news works, now is your chance to peek behind the scenes and get to know the news team.
Beverly Novin will give us a tour of the KHQ station and Kelly Hatmaker, news director, will join us for lunch and we’ll have an opportunity for a conversation with Kelly. Bring your appetite and your questions!
KHQ has a lot of firsts in broadcasting in Spokane and the Inland Northwest: Q6 beamed the first television signal in Spokane on Dec. 20, 1952, they were the first to beam a color television signal and the first to switch to an all-digital facility. The station also successfully launched its own 24-hour sports and weather channel, SWX.
We’ll meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at KHQ, 1201 W. Sprague Ave.
The cost for members is $15 and $20 for non-members
